PHS Students in Ski Ducks Documentary & Receive Awards

Three accomplished Pioneer High School students (David, Kaysie and Cherish) were selected to be in a documentary about the Ski Ducks organization who partners with Project Discovery to provide ski opportunities for the PHS Ski Team. Cherish and Kaysie were also selected to be this year’s recipients for the Project Discovery “Most Improved Award” which set them up with a complete set of boots, skis and poles for their efforts. We spent the day skiing, interviewing and then the students pushed their ski limits and tackled such famous lifts as Siberia and Emigrant which are rated intermediate to expert. The students and their ski coaches, Cary Jorden, Jim Croley and Mike Selby had a wonderful time and were dog tired when the moment came to ski a final almost three mile lap down mountain run to the base on very tired legs. Nonetheless the students rose to the occasion and were respectful and inspiring representatives of a great school. PHS ROCKS and so do their students!
