A letter from our Founder, Mike Selby:
Greetings Camper Parents!
We know you value the camp experiences Project Discovery has provided in the past. We are reaching out to you now because we don’t want you to miss out. (If you have already signed up, thank you! Please consider passing this info on to your friends and neighbors!)
I want to encourage especially your older campers to get in on the fun while you still can. Our camps this year are filling up faster than we ever could have imagined. It makes sense though… after a long year of Covid restrictions and quarantines, parents are committed to getting their kids back into the healthy outdoors and making new friends and having new adventures this coming summer.
We are more than doubling our camp programs but some camps are already overfilled with waiting lists so NOW is the time to book a healthy outdoor camp for your child. We still offer our ever popular Rocks, Ropes and Boats Camp but we have augmented the camp with an Advanced RR&B Camp for returning campers who will have the opportunity to experience some new and wonderful things.
In addition, we are offering two sessions of our new Backcountry Adventure Camp for ages 12-16 which will offer older campers rock climbing, backpacking, peak ascents, rappelling, camping outside, lake hiking, backcountry cooking instruction, nature study, a visit to a world famous pictograph site all crowned with the glory of a night on top of a local peak for sunset and sunrise.
Our High Adventure Camp for older campers (ages 13-16) is the ultimate challenge on a week long canyoneering adventure featuring rock climbing, rappelling, zip lining, cliff jumping, waterfall climbing and exploration in an expedition style format where campers will continue to learn how to lead, support others and use their leadership judgment skills to more clearly understand risk management and better take care of themselves and their team mates. This isn’t just a canyoneering adventure… this camp is focused on leadership skills campers will use the rest of their life.
Whatever you decide, I don’t want you to miss out and hope you book a camp soon before every spot is taken! Please navigate to http://projectdiscovery.com/summer-camps/ for more details on all the camps we offer and which are already filled. We hope you sign your child up… they sure deserve it after the year we’ve had!
