Our second Backcountry Camp Session came just two weeks after the first one. Once again, the campers just ate up all the adventure activities we threw at them. In this session we had a young lady who had never experienced anything like this before. Just about everything we did during the week was new for her. However, after every new achievement she just kept saying, “I was so scared, but that was so much fun!"
We faced some hardships with the weather (blazing hot sun during the afternoon of rock climbing, freezing wind during cliff jumping, and rushing winds during the ridge sleep over), but the campers persevered and overcame all obstacles thrown at them, becoming stronger in the process. They learned some valuable skills and some great life lessons. And hopefully a deepened love and respect for the outdoors. And, as usual, we hope to see them all again next year!
