Pioneer High School Ski Team at Diamond Peak

Students from the Pioneer High School Ski Team could be found at Diamond Peak on Friday challenging themselves amidst the beauty of Lake Tahoe. We enjoyed great weather and each student pushed themselves hard to further develop and refine their ski technique as well as more fully understand the life lessons that grow out of outdoor challenge programs with Project Discovery. In short, they came, they were challenged and they conquered as a team. Special kudos go out to Dillon who was a skiing prodigy, going from a Never Ever in the morning to skiing runs labeled with a Black Diamond meaning “Most Difficult”. Nice work Dillon! Its only four years to the next winter Olympics Dillon… stay on those skis! The rest of the team also did really well hanging in there and pushing one another to constantly improve. Despite the falls and frustration every Pioneer HS Student worked hard to become better than they were a few minutes ago which is the hallmark of learning. It was an honor to work with each and every one of them.
