If you’re looking for an outdoor adventure for your group, Project Discovery is ready to oblige. Our trained staff can provide a turn-key experience that is custom tailored for your group needs.
The Tahoe Basin and Sierras offer a perfect venue for outdoor climbing challenges. We utilize a variety of climbing sites from Lake Tahoe north to the Feather River canyon to meet the specific needs of each group. From simple top rope climbs to 100 foot rappels, your group will learn basic climbing skills while also developing trust and rapport that will keep your group moving forward. Project Discovery staff will provide the equipment and skills necessary to ensure the success of your participants.
If it’s the water that calls your group, a Lake Tahoe “sea kayaking” adventure may be what you need. Whether you want a short leisurely paddle, or a multi-day excursion, Project Discovery is prepared to meet your needs. Trips are tailored to meet the abilities of participants and lake conditions. Project Discovery staff will provide all equipment and skills to make sure your group has a great day on the water.
If you combine rocks and the water, you get canyoneering. The Feather River canyon offers some of California’s premier canyoneering. Imagine climbing a waterfall, rappelling into a pool of water or sliding down a granite water slide – it’s an experience your group will be talking about for years. Our canyoneering events are a bit more intense and are recommended for groups over the age of 12 and physically capable of strenuous activity.
There’s just too much to list here. Here’s a sampling of other things we can help with:

We’re happy to help plan your group’s adventure, whether it’s a single day or a week long camp. Please contact us to talk about possibilities.
