Project Discovery is proud to be offering three weeks of summer adventure camps for 2017. After what seems to be a never-ending winter, we’re all looking forward to our summer programs. We’re keeping our camp groups smaller this year, and that means that spaces will fill fast! Here’s a summary of our offerings:
• The Rocks, Ropes and Boats camps have been the core of our summer camp program for 7 seasons. This day camp is offered for kids from ages 7-13. Over five days, you child will experience low and high ropes course challenges, rock climbing, hiking and flat water kayaking on Tahoe. More importantly, they will develop self confidence, leadership skills and friendships that will last a lifetime. Two sessions of camp will be offered: July 10-14 and July 17-21. • This will be the second season for the Tahoe Leadership Academy. This camp is offered for teens ages 13-16. The five day camp includes two overnights and includes our most challenging ropes course elements, rock climbing, kayaking and one “mystery day”. This camp also focuses more deeply on the team element and the attitudes, behaviors and communications that make leaders successful. One session of camp will be offered from July 24-28. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer the popular High Adventure Camp this season. Record snowfall this winter will likely lead to record river flows this summer, leading us to put a hold on our canyoneering adventures this summer. We hope it returns for 2018!
